Frequently Asked Questions
Every good question deserves an answer. Whether you're thinking about a photoshoot, dreaming up an Enchantograph or looking for photographs for your business, here's a little help with the things you might be wondering about.
And if your question isn't here, just ask. You don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
Photography for people and pets
I'm really awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?
Absolutely! You don't need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands. I'll guide you gently throughout, and we'll keep things relaxed. I'm much more interested in capturing the real you than making you look like someone else.
What if my children won't sit still or smile?
That's absolutely fine. Children aren't little robots, and I wouldn't want them to be! We'll work at their pace, make room for their personalities and see what unfolds. Some of the loveliest photographs happen in the moments between the smiles.
Can we bring our dog or other pets along?
Of course! Pets are family too, and I'm always happy to include them where the session allows. We'll chat beforehand about your plans and your pet's needs so we can make the experience as comfortable as possible for everyone.
What should we wear?
Wear something that feels like you. I'll offer advice on colours, outfits and how to bring everything together, particularly if you're planning photographs with several people. There's no need to buy a whole new wardrobe!
What happens if the weather is awful for an outdoor session?
British weather likes to keep us guessing! If the conditions aren't suitable, we'll discuss the options, which may include rearranging your session. I'll always consider what's best for you, your family and the photographs we're hoping to create.
What happens after our photoshoot?
I'll carefully edit your photographs and prepare a gallery of the finished images. From there, you can choose the photographs and artwork you'd love to keep, depending on your session package. I'll explain the options so you can decide what suits you best, without feeling rushed.
Do I have to buy prints or wall art?
Not at all. The options available depend on the session you've booked, and some packages include digital images. I also offer beautiful prints and wall art if you'd like to bring your photographs into your home. I'll explain the choices clearly so you can decide what's right for you.
Enchantographs: creative portraits and digital art
What exactly is an Enchantograph?
An Enchantograph is a bespoke piece of creative portrait art that combines photography with digital artistry. I bring your idea to life through carefully crafted backgrounds, lighting, textures, details and digital painting. The result is an individual artwork with its own atmosphere and story, not simply a photograph with a filter added.
Are Enchantographs just for children?
Not even a little bit! They're for anyone with an imagination, a favourite fictional world or an idea they'd love to see brought to life. From mythical goddesses and fantasy heroes to romantic fairytales, dramatic portraits and wonderfully unusual concepts, there's room for grown-up dreamers here too.
What if I have an idea but don't know how to make it work?
That's where the fun begins! You don't need a fully formed concept or a folder full of inspiration. Tell me what you're imagining, what you love and how you'd like the finished artwork to feel. We'll explore the possibilities together and develop an idea that works for you.
Do I need to come to your studio?
Not necessarily. I offer in-person creative portrait experiences, where we plan and photograph your session together, as well as remote Enchantograph commissions created using photographs you provide. The best option depends on your idea, and I'll help you work out which approach suits it.
Can you create an Enchantograph from a photograph I already have?
Yes! My remote I 'Magic' Your Photos service allows you to commission a bespoke piece using photographs you supply. I'll guide you through choosing suitable images and explain what's needed to bring your idea to life. Not every photograph will suit every concept, so we'll discuss the possibilities first.
Photography for your business
I'm not very comfortable being photographed. Can you help me look professional without feeling stiff or corporate?
Definitely. Professional doesn't have to mean formal, serious or looking as though you've just had a telling-off! I'll help you feel at ease and create images that reflect your personality and the way you want your business to be seen., Sometimes the best images are the ones where i'm simply capturing you doing the things you would do on a daily basis in your business where you're most comfortable.
What's the difference between a headshot, a Branding Session and a Brand Story Experience?
A headshot gives you a confident, professional portrait for places such as LinkedIn and your website. A Branding Session creates a wider collection of images showing more of your personality and what you do. The Full Brand Story Experience goes further, helping you develop your visual direction before creating a cohesive library of photographs that work together across your business.
What if I don't know what images my business needs?
You don't need to come other me with a perfect plan. We'll talk about your business, your audience, where you'll use the photographs and what you want them to communicate. For a Full Brand Story Experience, we'll also develop a visual branding board to help establish the look and feel before we even pick up the camera.
Can you photograph my products, food or workspace too?
Yes! I adore product and food photography, as well as imagery that shows the people, places and details behind a business. Whether you make beautiful things, serve delicious food or offer a hands-on service, we'll plan the photographs around what you need to show your customers.
A few Practical Things
What kind of payments do you take?
Most of my clients pay by bank transfer, cash or paypal, but i can take cards in person if that helps
Where are you based, and do you travel?
I'm based in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside near Haverfordwest in West Wales. I photograph people, pets and businesses locally on location or here in my lovely, well equipped studio and i travel further afield by arrangement. My remote digital art services also mean we could work together wherever you are, i even offer remote headshots via a clever little platfrom that temporarily gives me access to your phone camera and i can guide you via a live video call session.
How do I book a session or ask about a commission?
Simply get in touch and tell me a little about what you have in mind. You don't need to know exactly what you want or have every detail worked out. We'll have a chat, explore the possibilities and work out the next steps together.
I'm interested in one of your services, but I'm not quite ready to book. Is it okay to ask questions first?
Of course! There's no need to rush into anything. If you're curious, have an idea brewing or simply want to find out more, I'd love to hear from you. Sometimes the best creative projects start with a conversation.
Still have a question?
Whether you're planning family photographs, imagining an Enchantograph or thinking about refreshing your business imagery, let's talk about it.
You bring the idea, the question or even just a vague feeling of I'd love to do something with this. We'll take it from there.
Let's make something wonderful together.
Welcome to Wonderland Editing Services...
As a photographer and digital artist myself, i fully understand the demands of the editing side of our business, I have learned over the many years i've been a professional photographer that not everyone knows how to, or loves the editing side - luckily i adore it, Lightroom / Photoshop is my happy place, editing is very much my mindful zone; it is to me what knitting or watching tv is to others, so it made sense to me to offer this as a service to others that might not have the time, the inclination, or know how.
I have been editing for other photographers and estate agents for approx 12 years and have many happy clients, i never reveal who i have edited for, preferring to do this as a 'ghost editor' to maintain confidentiality and will always fine tune a style to match that of my client - i'm very much a chameleon in that way!, i have other be, its not about me its about you, my client and making you shine in the best light possible.
Whether you are an overburdened photographer, have a tricky edit to contend with, an estate agent with images to fine tune, or a full composite or beauty retouch to keep a client happy and add to your own bottom line then feel free to see my flyer below - i'm happy to send this to you as a PDF at your request if you prefer to keep it handy, just contact me and provide your email address.
A few technical pointers ...
I like to use We Transfer for the receiving and sending of images. ( but will also use dDopbox & Microspft / Google platforms if preferred)
RAW files are always best to send for editing where possible.
I have a turnaround of approx 2 - 3 weeks for large quantities of images but only a few days for up to 50 - dependent on my own workload, and complexity of edits requested. I will always give an honest estimate of when you can expect your images back.
I will expedite in special circumstances but generally will edit in the order the work comes in.
New Clients
I'm happy to have a video call with potential new clients so we can meet first to determine if were a good fit, ask questions and try me out on a couple of images , it can a bit of tweaking to get the style exactly right for your needs but once i have it nailed, we're off!
